Lake Mainstay is located 15 mins by car inland from Anna Regina on the Essequibo coast. With its own airstrip, the resort is a 20-minute flight from Georgetown. The Arawak Indians first inhabited the Mainstay area; it was called 'Quacabuka', an Arawak word meaning 'in–between'.

The spacious resort is comprised of a cluster of comfortable air-conditioned cottages on the lakeshore and large recreational spaces. It has the largest guest-capacity in Guyana, and is well suited for conferences, daytours, relaxing overnight stays or incentive trips.
In addition to the accommodation and conference facilities, there is a well stocked bar on a jetty over the waters of the lake, a protected swimming area, invigourating watersports and a comfortable restaurant with a varied menu of traditional Guyanese dishes. Visits to the neighbouring Amerindian village are also easily arranged.
Tours activities include: beach cricket , volleyball, water volleyball, beach football, canoeing, jetski rides and speedboat rides. You can relax at the Deck Bar overlooking the lake with music for your entertainment or enjoy the Bar-B-Que grill to satisfy your taste buds.
